Our inner and outer covers are made of cotton, which is one of the softest materials available on earth. In addition to softness, cotton has three essential properties: it absorbs water, is flexible and lets air through. Latex, or natural rubber, is a mixture of organic compound produced by trees. Latex is often confused as sap, but is a defensive compound, produced by the tree to protect itself against bugs and insects. Hevea grows largely in Thailand, first producer of natural latex in the world. Trees create latex throughout is life time, that last for over 30 years. And the latex is collected into a cup, until natural coagulation stops the process, usually after 4 hours. This technique does not harm or damage tree in any sense.
